Portrait Commission

Portrait Commissions...

Sleepy Read and myself with his 1/2 life-size portrait sculpture

Most of the things Jeff sculpts are portraits, even when he is doing his own ideas. He prefers to use live models and enjoys the challenge of making his ideas look like the actual person.

Equally challenging is a commission to create a sculptural likeness of a specific individual.

The following is the portrait commission process:

  1. 3 to 4 live posing sessions of 2 hours each. Photos of the subject can be substituted if necessary.
  2. Then your original clay sculpture is either dried and fired in a kiln, or molded and cast, depending on the medium you choose.
  3. Sculpture is mounted on base with name plate.

Your Choice of Mediums:

Ceramic clay, bonded bronze, bronze

Your Choice of Sizes:

life, ⅔ life, life-size, larger-than-life, etc.
